Why are my favorite walking shoes on backorder for 2 months...?

Well, today is the official first day of training to walk the 60 miles. I have spent the past hour searching for a pair of Reebok Easytones in a size 9 (and cute pink color) to no avail. Every website, Reebok included, has the shoes on backorder for quite a while. I have never met another soul who wears these shoes... But, on a happier and much more optimistic note, I have successfully created 5 scrub hats to sell and am well on my way to making more! I am talking to potential "corporate" sponsors and getting a game plan together for a t-shirt fundraiser. I will be wearing the t-shirt in the walk and selling t-shirts to raise money. I am off to start walking, in my sad old shoes!

The Beginning!

So, I am starting this blog to record the progress of my training and fundraising for the 2010 3-Day Walk for a Cure! I am still VERY nervous about raising the money and potentially walking as a team of 1. I decided this past December that I wanted to try something new and challenging, little did I know what was in store for me. The pamphlet arrived and I couldn't quit pondering what it would be like. I have friends who have participated in 1/2 and full marathons and I was always a little jealous. Blessed with defective joints, running that far was never in the cards for me. So, I am not sure if anyone cares or will attend to my process, but I am off and walking! Hopefully this blog will be cathartic during the trials of training and raising $2300 bucks.
